Hurricane Team

The MSPS “Hurricane Team”

 

Early in the 2004 hurricane season, a member of the Manatee Sail & Power Squadron became aware that a number of homeowners along the canal where he lived had no particular plan for securing their boats in the event of a hurricane. After discussing his concerns with other members of the squadron, a team was formed to research and develop a program to help educate the public and fellow squadron members on the proper equipment and techniques for preparing boats for tropical storms and hurricanes.
