The USPS boating safety course called "Boat Smart" is offered to the general public by the Manatee Sail & Power Squadron three times each year. The course covers topics that include boating basics such as safe boat handling, coast guard requirements for safety equipment, general guidelines of navigation and much more. It's the perfect start for inexperienced boaters and a great refresher course for those who have been boating for years. The Manatee Sail & Power Squadron's "Boat Smart" course is always offered as a one-day course on Saturdays. Coffee and doughnuts start the morning and lunch is provided.
